Geographical location
The village of Győrszemere lies at the meeting point of the Bakony Hills and the Kisalföld (Small Plains), on a territory full of slight hills and far-stretching ridges in the range of the Pannonhalma-Sokoró Hills. It is located 15 km from Győr. Due to its geographical situation, the village does not present a homogenous picture from the aspect of settlement structure. It is divided into four separate parts: the village, the hill, the forest and Nagyszentpál. The village has a characteristically closed settlement structure, the vineyard hill part depicts one long street stretching along the feet of the Sokoró Hills.
